An Ancient Egyptian Tradition
In the ancient Egyptian tradition, the serpent was more than a mere creature—it was a potent emblem of transformation, wisdom, and divine feminine power. To shed one’s skin, like the snake, was to embrace renewal, release burdens, and step forward reborn.
This immersive ritual, designed for women, invokes the energy of Wadjet, the great cobra goddess, protector, and guide through transitions.
Participants will engage in a sacred ceremony that mirrors the serpent’s shedding, symbolizing the release of past identities, fears, or limitations.
Through purification, invocation, and symbolic offering, each woman emerges renewed, strengthened, and aligned with her highest path.
Veiling is traditionally observed during this ritual, honoring the mysteries of the divine feminine and creating a sacred container for transformation.
This is more than a ritual—it is a rite of passage, a reclaiming of the ancient wisdom that still pulses beneath the surface of modern life. Step into the sacred, shed the old, and embrace the power of renewal.
Preparation
This sacred ritual, inspired by ancient Egyptian traditions, is designed for women seeking renewal, transformation, and release from past burdens—symbolizing the shedding of an old skin, much like the serpent. It honors the goddess Wadjet, the cobra goddess of protection, wisdom, and transformation.

Shedding of the Snake:
A Ritual Transformation Class with the Neteru & Temple PracticesThis immersive course integrates the wisdom of the Egyptian Neteru (divine forces) with ritual shedding, mirroring the sacred initiatory processes of the temples. Each module includes a temple practice, allowing participants to embody these ancient teachings in a structured, ceremonial way.
Module 1
The Serpent’s Wisdom & the Neteru of Transformation
The journey begins at the threshold of change. Guided by the serpent’s ancient wisdom, participants explore the sacred symbolism of the snake and meet the Neteru who govern the mysteries of death, rebirth, and awakening.
Neteru Focus:
Wadjet – Serpent goddess of protection and spiritual vision
Khepri – Scarab god of becoming and daily renewal
Nehebkau – Serpent deity of empowerment and life-force integration
Topics Covered:
The snake in Egyptian cosmology: cycles of shedding and regeneration
Wadjet as protector and awakener of the inner eye
The necessity of symbolic death in spiritual evolution
Preparing body, mind, and spirit for the sacred work of transformation
Temple Practice (Online): The Serpent’s Awakening
Participants will be guided through a blindfolded meditation (with an optional scarf or veil from home), symbolizing the unawakened state—the mystery of not yet seeing.
Through breathwork, anointing suggestions (such as blue lotus oil), and coiling movement, participants awaken the serpent energy within, guided into the coils of Nehebkau to feel the pulse of power rising. The blindfold is removed when the moment is right—symbolizing the first glimpse of the awakened self.
Module 2
Ritual of Release with Osiris & Anubis
This is the descent—the necessary surrender before the ascent. With the guidance of Osiris and Anubis, participants release the burdens of the past and step into the sacred process of rebirth.
Neteru Focus:
Osiris – God of resurrection through the embrace of death
Anubis – Guardian of thresholds and psychopomp of the soul
Topics Covered:
The Osirian myth: death, dismemberment, and renewal
Anubis as guide through the soul’s transitions
Sacred burial, purification, and the alchemy of release
Temple Practice (Online): The Burial Chamber of Transformation
From your own sacred space, create a darkened, quiet environment. Participants will be guided into a symbolic tomb of Osiris through meditation, accompanied by the imagined scents of myrrh and frankincense.
Marza will lead you through spoken word and visioning, releasing what is ready to die into the Duat, the underworld of transformation. Upon completing the ritual, each participant wraps themselves in white cloth or scarf—symbolizing readiness for rebirth.
Module 3
Integration & Rebirth with Sekhmet & Khepri
The fire burns, the light returns. In this phase, participants anchor the transformation they have begun, standing with Sekhmet’s fierce clarity and Khepri’s promise of renewal. The work becomes embodiment.
Neteru Focus:
Sekhmet – Lion-headed goddess of sacred fire and purification
Khepri – God of the rising sun, symbol of becoming and new life
Topics Covered:
Sekhmet’s fire as a force for clearing and empowerment
Khepri’s dawn: stepping fully into new potential
Strengthening and integrating the “new skin”
Temple Practice (Online): The Fire Path and the Dawn
Participants will be guided through a candle-lit (or imagined) fire ritual to invoke Sekhmet’s purifying flames. Through shaking, breathwork, and movement, release the last threads of the old.
Turning to face the east, participants chant Khepri’s name together across the virtual circle, calling in the light of renewal. Anoint yourself with solar-infused oil (or your chosen sacred oil) as a blessing for the new self ready to emerge.
Module 4
Living the Shedding Practice with Ma’at & Thoth
The journey does not end—it integrates. This final module offers tools and practices to carry the shedding process into daily life, guided by Ma’at’s balance and Thoth’s wisdom.
Neteru Focus:
Ma’at – Goddess of truth, balance, and right relationship
Thoth – Keeper of knowledge, scribe of the gods, guide of sacred word and memory
Topics Covered:
Recognizing the rhythms of shedding and renewal as an ongoing practice
Living in harmony with Ma’at’s principles of balance and right action
Recording, honoring, and understanding one’s personal transformation through Thoth’s wisdom
Temple Practice (Online): The Weighing of the Heart
Participants write their final reflections—what has been released, what has been reclaimed—and approach their home altar or sacred space to place these words beside a feather or symbolic item of truth.
The ritual is sealed by writing a personal affirmation or vow onto paper or papyrus—a sacred contract with self and spirit, witnessed by the group and held under the gaze of Thoth.
Final Initiation & Celebration:
• The course concludes with a ceremonial procession, honoring the path taken.
• Participants may receive an ankh or scarab symbol as a token of their transformation.
• A closing circle is held to acknowledge each person’s journey and the wisdom of the Neteru.
